Program Description
The 4-week course will examine the African American experience starting from the the rise of the Western Sudanic Civilization to the present experiences of Black life in America. Prominent themes include the European Slave Trade, Black Wall Street, the Civil War and the beginning of Reconstruction; the Great Migration and Urbanization; the development of the modern civil rights movement and its aftermath.
