Program Description

Program Description

A six-week series of hands-on experiences with basic cooking skills, nutrition, and food safety. Older children also learn meal planning and preparing a complete meal based on USDA’s MyPlate. Kid-friendly handouts, recipes, and tips for how to use kitchen equipment safely.  Please register for the first program (August 3) to be registered for the six-week series.  Please only register if you think you can complete at least four of the six dates.

As a courtesy to those on the waiting list, cancellations should be submitted at least 24 hours in advance of the program. Please remember that three (3) cancellations/no shows within a calendar year will result in forfeiture of registration privileges.

Please arrive on time. Late arrivals may be restricted from participating and registered spots may be given to someone on the waiting list. Repeated late arrivals and a repeated failure to notify staff of cancellation in advance may result in a restriction from participating in future programs.

We cannot guarantee that food served at this program has not come into contact with tree nuts, soy, dairy, or other allergens.
